CollaborationS

Our group collaborates extensively. The costs of the collaboration - and these can be substantial - are shared between the participants. Collaborations are contingent upon ongoing funding and the research work is published jointly. Research activities that do not require method development and involve the application of existing technologies are usually handled by the UCCC Proteomics Core. Contact Dr. Kirk Hansen directly.

By entering into collaboration with us, our colleagues agree to:

  • Fund the work directly, or to write grants in full collaboration with us to support the work. Collaborators must provide us with a full copy of any submitted grants, including budgets.
  • Immediately notify us of award details on announcement of the decision of any funding agency.
  • Co-authorship of all publications arising from the work, or when it is more appropriate, acknowledgement of our involvement.
  • Provide a copy of (or full citation details) of any publications or presentations arising from the collaboration.
  • Payment of all charges associated with the work.

Record Keeping Requirements and Letters of Support
We are frequently asked to provide letters in support of grant proposals or to provide text that can be incorporated into grants. We are happy to assist, but we require sufficient time to assess whether we will be able to participate in any proposal. Requests must therefore be made at least 1 week before you require the letter from us. Please include an outline of the proposal and the experimental section so that we can assess our role in the work, and the portion of the budget pertaining to our participation. We realize that such information will typically be in draft form prior to submission. After the grant has been submitted, we require a copy of the final experimental section and the budget as it was submitted to the granting agency. We are required by the university and the federal government to keep accurate records of all such commitments. Collaborators should realize that our participation in a grant obligates them to promptly provide this information for our files.
